15 BEST HABITS YOU SHOULD ADOPT

Siku njema huonekana asubuhi.” Is a Kiswahili proverb loosely translated as a good day is seen in the morning. You can make your life better if you adopt the following daily practices.

I. Proclaim Success in your Life Every Morning

You have often heard that there’s power in the tongue, and the mouth proclaims what’s from the heart.

Make it a habit of speaking positivity in your life every morning.

II. Make a to-do list

Every evening before you go to bed, make a list of things you intend to accomplish the following day.

It will help you to have to be organized and have a smooth day. It also saves time.

III. Try a New Thing Each Day

Be open to new ideas.

You won’t experience change if you keep doing things the same old way. Challenge yourself to get out of your comfort zone and experiment with new ideas. You never know; your breakthrough may be lying somewhere in the new thing.

IV. Stay up to Date

The world is fast evolving, and you shouldn’t be left behind.

Luckily for you, there are many avenues at your disposal to keep you well informed on what’s trending.  Make YouTube, Twitter, and other existing online and offline sources your friend. Have a goal to keep up with the pace.

V. Don’t Dream your Success Rather Work Towards Achieving It.

Dreaming is fine as it gives you a picture of what you want to become, but dreaming without putting in the work will be in vain.

Craft a strategy and put in the work to make your dream a reality.

VI. Prioritize Punctuality

Keeping time is a great virtue in our day-to-day life. Be it in a business, family meeting, religious meeting, or any other meeting.

Make it your norm to keep time. As the saying goes, time waits for no man.

VII. Network

Networking runs the world. Businesses thrive as a result of networking.

Accept invitations to events and meetings, and while at it, market your skills, products, and business.

Listen and learn how different people do things.

Networking opens many doors that you thought couldn’t be open.

VIII. Don’t beat yourself Too Hard for Your Failures.

Days are different. Sometimes we have great days, while other times, we may experience awful moments that break our hearts.

Do not overwork your mind thinking about the things that you were unable to achieve today, instead make it a lesson as you purpose to do better tomorrow.

Choosing to be pessimistic is a choice that will only drain you mentally, physically, and emotionally.

Always ride on positivity.

IX. Do not be scared to Reach Out to the “Big Guys.”

As long as you have a clear and viable idea, do not be afraid to pitch what may seem like a big company or manager.

You will be surprised by how accommodating people are.

All you need is to believe in yourself and have confidence in your proposal.

Send that email for you never know what awaits you on the other side, and you will never know if you don’t give it a try.

X. Learn to Keep your Word/Promise

Success relies heavily on trust. If you’re a supplier and you promised to deliver quality, always stick to your word.

Many people and businesses like banks and other lending institutions prefer transacting with trustworthy people.

Do not give people a reason to have a second thought when transacting with you.

XI. Do unto others what you would like done unto you.

Always remember that humanity comes before your status in business or society.

Treat people equally, listen to them, and if need be, advise them accordingly without humiliating any.

Never ask someone to do what you wouldn’t do.

XII. Surround yourself with People who Challenge you to Become Better

The people you keep as your company have an impact on what you can or cannot do.

Be with those who compliment your skills and experience. People who do not sugarcoat your incompetence and mistakes but challenge you to exploit your potential.

XIII. Exercise Regularly

Exercises increase your mental clarity and help in overcoming mental blocks. It also rejuvenates your body.

Make it a habit to exercise.

XIV. Do not Neglect your Health.

Keep your body nourished with the correct nutrients. Drink lots of water, and do not skip your meals.

Good health is a valuable investment to have.

XV.  Take some Time to Rest

Sometimes we have so much to do at work, and we lack time to rest. We then carry some of the work at home. As much as we need to make money, always make some time to rest.

Your bedroom shouldn’t be an office. Resting nourishes your mind and helps to increase productivity the following day. If you can, avoid your phone or laptop or any other disruption during your rest time.

Take time to meditate and reflect on your inner self and your family.
